The repeal of DADT was a great way to kick off the holiday, but seeing this gem pop up in my reader was an unexpected gift, from What’s Your Favorite HR Blog Post of 2010?, written by friend of the show, Michael Carty:
- Why I Blog. Why You Should, Too. An absolutely outstanding and very amusing post on what blogging has to offer HR professionals, from Dwane Lay’s consistently excellent Lean HR blog.
Really? My post?
Those of you who read the blog know that I regularly assume you don’t exist. It makes my life less stressful. In fact, the only posts I really worry about are guest posts, since those are going to be shown on a page people actually read. (Yes, I have Google Analytics whispering in my ear that there are at least a couple of you paying attention, but I don’t believe everything I hear.)
Anyway, this was an unexpected honor, and has been an excellent ego boost.
Thanks to those who have read it, or anything else here this year. It’s been an interesting one for sure. I appreciate your time, and will try to put out more worthwhile content in the future. For now, I’m ready to begin the holiday season in earnest. I’ll resist the urge to inundate you with posts over the next week about what I’ve done, what I’ll do better, etc. We could both use the free time, I think.
Also, if you haven’t yet, please take the time to visit Michael’s post and add your comments. He’s always gracious in sharing his platform with other bloggers, and this is a great chance to spread the word about some well written material!
