I’m looking to put together a list of HR jobs. Not a “manager, generalist, admin” kind of list, but around the work you do. Specifically, for what services do your employees come to HR? I’ll start off with a few high level categories and some sub points…

- Resume review
- Candidate screening
- Interview management
- Create performance review system
- Administer performance reviews
- Create development plans
- Internal movement administration
- Legal adviser
- Employee notification
- Escorting employee from premises
- Confiscation of company property
- Detective / Investigator
- Impartial Contributor
Just a few ideas there, not all of which may be relevant to your particular practice. I’d appreciate some input from you (yes, you) on what else your team needs from HR. This will be a part of a larger discussion on creating HR strategy.
